Funding fuels Edgecumbe Volunteer Fire Brigade’s capacity to cater for community in emergencies – Trust Horizon
Trust Horizon is a community-based charitable trust that offers funding and grants to local Eastern Bay of Plenty businesses and organisations. Trust Horizon also offers a full range of support and services to assist, educate and develop local communities. They seek out opportunities to build a stronger and better-connected community and take their responsibility for the region’s well-being seriously.
Trust Horizon has helped the Edgecumbe fire station upgrade its electrical system, kitchen, and canteen through a grant. The station will soon be able to cater for over 100 people in the event of an emergency thanks to the funding. Read more about it here.

Bowel Cancer NZ is a not-for-profit organisation that educates, researches, advocates, provides support, and raises awareness amongst New Zealanders about bowel cancer. They aim to reduce the impacts of bowel cancer for New Zealanders by advocating for nationwide screening, and funding research into treatments, and ultimately, a cure.
As a healthy 32-year-old, Rachael says the diagnosis came as a shock, especially given she had next to no symptoms but found out the cancer had been in her body “for multiple years”. Her diagnosis of rectal cancer at a young age was a huge surprise. As part of raising awareness, Rachael has joined the nationwide awareness campaign called ‘Move our Butt’. Read more about it here.
